Blood Tests
Blood samples can fail for various reasons. This can happen if not enough blood was provided or if the sample was delayed in the post and got old. The sample can also clot if it takes a long time to collect the sample, or if the collection tube was not inverted 10 times after sample collection. Another reason could be that the blood hemolyzed, which happens when too much pressure is applied to the fingertip while collecting the sample, or if you scrape your finger on the side of the tube rather than letting the blood drop down into the tube. We strongly recommend following these tips for collecting your sample: https://www.homediq.com/en/blood-collection-tips/.
Urine Tests
Insufficient results can occur if the sample collection tube was over or under-filled. The collection tube should be filled in between the marked fill lines.
Vaginal Swab Tests
Insufficient results can occur due to vaginal cleaning with perfumed soap, too much blood or mucus in the sample, or remnants of lubricant. Certain antibiotics or medications that inhibit the amplification of the DNA can also cause insufficient results.
